When you click on the normal X in the top right corner of myJoice phone, the program will actually not exit but rather hide. This
is so that you can receive incoming calls. If you
want to completely exit the program, find the myJoice logo in the bottom
right corner of your computer screen (next to the watch), right click
and select quit. Alternatively, you can choose "quit" from the "View" menu.

There is a known issue where Linphone / myJoice phone sometimes looses its connection to the webcam, resulting in the content of the video window not being updated. This usually happens when the computer wakes up from hibernate or equivalent. In these cases, restart the program by quitting it in the bottom right corner of the computer screen (next to the watch) |

Yes! There is also a chat feature that works between both PCs. The chat function does not work against boxes since boxes do not have keyboards.

Yes. You will not be seen at the other-party, but you will be able to have an audio conversation. Since audio is usually of higher quality than with regular telephones, this is not such a bad idea.

If your camera is not recognised by myJoice Phone, you should check that it is
recognised by Windows in the first place. Go to the
control panel, choose cameras and scanners and double click on the icon
for your camera. - If you do not see a proper picture in the window, then you made a mistake when installing the camera driver. Maybe you simply forgot to install the driver or you forgot to restart your computer once you had installed the driver.
- If you see a proper picture in the window, the problem is with myJoice Phone. Start by checking in the preferences windows, multimedia settings tab, that the camera is properly selected as the video device. Close the preferences windows and restart myJoice phone to be on the safe side if you make any modifications. If it still does not work, get in touch with us and we will try to help you out further.

There are a number of possible reasons for this, the three most likely ones are: - You have just installed a new webcamera and you have forgotten to restart your computer as requested by the install procedure.
- Your camera is not recognised by myJoice Phone. Check My camera is not recognised, what can I do? to see if that resolves your problem.
- You might have another application running on your computer that is competing with myJoice Phone over the webcamera. Normally, there can only be one application using the camera at a time so you will have to detect which application is causing problems and close it and restart myJoice Phone to get things working. We have had reports that Skype is sometimes associated to this type of problem. If you want to share your web cam between several applications, you could rely on web cam splitter applications, such as SplitCam. SuperWebcam or WebCamSplitter. You will have to restart myJoice Phone and your computer for this to work propely.

Choose the exit option from the view menu in the main window or from the menu that shows up when you right-click on the tray icon.

myJoice Phone is meant to run all the time when you are logged in onto your computer. When you click the "close" cross icon in the top-right corner of the window, myJoice Phone does not exit. Instead it is sent to the tray, i.e. the zone that is directly to the left of your computer clock in the bottom-right corner of your screen. Double-click the tray icon to reactivate myJoice Phone if you wish to place a call.

You probably have a firewall that is restricting access to your PC from the outside. If you are running the firewall that ships with Windows, make sure that you have allowed myJoice phone to run as a server. If you are running another firewall, relax firewall restrictions in a similar way.
Also make sure that you are not running two firewalls. We have had reports of people having two different firewall software installed and running. We have also had reports of people for which the uninstall of a given firewall had not worked properly and where remnants of the old firewall were still left in the operating system, while a new firewall was in place.

Your settings are saved when myJoice phone exits and you might loose your settings if you shutdown windows or log off while the softphone is still running. This is a known bug and we are working on fixing it.
